    Hi,

I keep getting this stupid debugger popup everytime I open any folder,

ive searched for awhile now and i cant seem to get rid of it. I have Visual C++ 2005 installed, and thats when it started happening, I tried uninstalling it, but it still happens.... does anyone know how to get rid of it? ive edited registry, deleted files, etc, but nothing seems to get rid of it.

    Thanks in advance.

Hello there dcahrakos and a hearty "Welcome to Major Geeks!" ;)

Since this is likely a "malware" issue; you will need to repost your question in the Malware Removal area of Major Geeks (or one of this forums moderators will move it there for you) where you will benefit from the expertise of that thread's "regular" forum members.

The only "somewhat related" post I could find via Google was this one at the SpywareInfo.com forum. The person who posted the question there was able to solve his/her problem with the “svchost.exe - Common Language Runtime Debugging Services” error using the HijackThis app.

When you get to that HijackThis webpage link (above); be sure to scroll on down to and entirely read the "Editors Note." In fact you should probably copy that info onto a WORD or other document for future reference. This application will help you to get to the root of your problem here; because other forum members in the Malware Removal section can analyze the logs that HijackThis will create.

After your question is reposted in that more appropriate MG thread; I’d suggest that you run HijackThis and then post the log either at the Malware Removal or at the SpywareInfo.com forum

If you are unfamiliar with this HijackThis application and/or the forum policies regarding posting HijackThis logs; I’d suggest that you read this HijackThis log tutorial first. Copy this page and save it as well. It was painstakingly written by the Major Geeks co-owner "Major Attitude," and will guide you through the process of using HijackThis and then posting your resulting "log" afterwards so that others can help you diagnose and correct whatever the problem is.

    Good Luck!

Thanks, but I dont need to make a new one, when I ran Hijackthis, which I didnt think of doing, I used a site to scan the log file, and removed 6 things, and now the problem is gone.

never actually thought of hijackthis....but it worked good...I usually used it before I started to use firefox to fix IE, but it works awesome for alot of other stuff too..

    Thanks again.
