Stupid Roxio Software

I am using Roxio'S MyDVD9 software. just recently it tried to update "Roxio Update Manager" and that window kept popping up, giving message: installation package cannot be found. For a period of time I could not get rid of that annoying window. then i decided to run msconfig and remove it from startup: it helped, now I have another window popping up saying that i have used that utility and now the startup has changed. that does not bother me much.
then i installed Windows Install Cleanup Utility and tried to remove that Update manager-it gives me an error messgae every time i try to do that. and now also i am not able to put my computer into standby mode: it goes into it incompletely, and when i try to exit it-the computer gives me an error message: Physical memory dump begin.....etc. and then restarts...
please help me restore the ability to use standby/hibernate mode+ remove that update manager software.

HELP!!!!!!
