Stuttery graphics

Firstly, hello to everyone (new member) ; secondly, I am suddenly experiencing stuttery graphics on my pc...

It has only just started to happen and I am lost as to why it has reared it's ugly head...

I currently play a game called freelancer online (Colours mod) and until yesterday, the game was fine...

Now each time I log on I get the intermittent stutter every few seconds...

I have freed up a lot of space on hd and defragged...

I updated nvidia driver then went back to original one after this didn't work; still doesn't solve problem...

My graphics card is an NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GTX running on an Abit KN8 Series mobo...

Any help would be appreciated...

 

Having allready updated everything the next step would be to see if heat is the cause, pull the side cover off and set a fan blowing into the pc and see if this helps. If it does check for dust inside and be sure all fans are running. ed
