Subnet

A friend of mine we are trying to play a game through LAN, when he wants to join he gets an error it tells us " your subnet is not the same as your host? even though in network connections our subnet masks are the same. so he can't join into my game and I can't join into his. what;s the problem? and please explain it simple because Im a huge rookie in PC's....

We use Hamachi, it's like virtual LAN, we never had any troubles with it before, but now with EE it's a different story.

yeah, with other games it worked, like fifa 2006, lotrbfme 1 & 2. but only EE gives a problem, I would really appreciate it if you could help us out..
