Suddenly banned from MajorGeeks tribes?

Hey, I think this is either a case of mistaken identity OR personal grievance, I was playing tribes today at bout 12am (new zealand time), happily defending the base with about 3 other heavys on Stonehenge then i got a message "The Server is down", i reconnected my modem because i thought it was a tribes error and then tryed to connect and then i recieved the message "You are perminantely banned, please join #heaven on irc...."

Is there any admin here that can help me out or maybe tell me what I did wrong? help would be much appreciated, thanks.

 

Hmm weird, i dont understand why its telling you to go to #heaven on a Major Geeks server.

 

I think the same person that is meesing with me..is messing with Todger. With the exception im not banned...i just get kicked all the time for no reason.

 

hmm. that's very odd. I might hop tonight and see if someone is loggin in as admin who should not be.

 

I've been enjoying Majorgeeks for some time now and know quite a few people. I'm also experiencing a problem with admins abusing their powers. This has gone on for several days sporatically, with more notably tonite where an admin kicked me in the middle of regular game play for no reason. So I waited several mins, got back on and asked why I was kicked. No response and was kicked again.
I decided to wait again and try to find out who the admin is that apparently has a grudge. I got on, waited in obs and asked for an explanation. No response. Asked who the admin is. Got a response from someone who was smurfing admin and subsequently was kicked again.
I believe I know who all the admins are on Majorgeeks as I've been around long enough to see. I hope the server continues to stay up as base is a lot more fun and few servers are popular base
Would appreciate some help and can name several smurfed names if needed.

I was on yesterday for about 30 minutes and I didn't see anything wrong with the way people were playing... I know it was only 30 minutes but hey, it was the best I could do.

If you're paying attention to who it says logged into admin when you're playing or if you happen to know who says they are the admin when you're playing, please let me know.

 

Kodo, when admins log in, players do not see this, only other admins that are currently under admin status (logged in).

 

well then, I remember being able to see "so and so logged in as admin" as a regular player. Must have been an old admin program.. hey look, it's been a long time since I even thought about configuring a server much less taking note of all the changes to programs..lol. In any case, I don't have access to any ban lists. Best I can do then is log in peroidcally and monitor.

 

I'm there quite often, and i have never once seen any of this happen.

 

like I said, it's been a loooooong time. It could have been a ren admin program as I played that on SSA servers (being a member and all). Again, best I can do is monitor from time to time. I'll ask Tim if he can do more but he's a busy guy.

 

I'm not talking about the admin thing, i know what your talking about it, it tells the whole server "Kodo has logged in as admin", im talking about i have never seen anyone kicked for no reason. Also i'v tried to help Tim numerous times but he has never responded so i have givin up.

 

U know its sad to say...but i think if there isnt some sort of investigation into all the kicking for no reason...that MG might not be a popular server anymore. I mean, look at all the new ppl coming to the server, and they're just getting started...start asking questions and BHAM...some abusive admin takes it upon himslef to get rid of his so called "nucence?" that keeps asking question to learn about the game. C'mon ppl....if the new ppl cant even grasp what the game is about then all the vets that still play the game will just give up cause there wont be anymore "Sitting Ducks"...HAHAHAHA....for them to take advandage of. Whats the use of playing the same ol' ppl day in and day out. Yeah they may be better or worse at the game than u r but we need to keep hold of the next gen of tribe players to hopefully keep the game alive. I myself love playing tribes and its the only one i really play...except for BeJeweled Deluxe 2...ROFL. Well i think i have spoke enough of my mind. Hope this will help in any way possible to get things straightened out.

 

Here's a suggestion, next time you see someone kicked, why dont your remember the username that kicked him? I still have yet to see this happen.

I was kicked about 10 or so times over the course of today, several times while Fallen|GD was on. After seeing GD logon, I thought I'd ask him who and he doesn't seem to care to see me get kicked over again and made no effort to talk with me in obs. Oh well. Abusive admins with no one else doing anything about it. I don't see how a server like this is going to last with people treating the server like @#^% and complaints continuing like this as before. I was hoping it would...

Well, I don't have ANY access to ANY ban lists or the server itself so I cannot help you get unbanned myself.

I was playing last night and it wasn't as bad as previous times but there was still plenty of base ra-ping happening on snowblind. A warning about it seemed to clear it up. I kicked one person for blowing up his/her teams deployables and that was it. I personally won't ban anyone unless consistently do the following: base ra-pe, shot people off INV's ,destroyed deployables, spawn mined on a regular basis.

I will see what I can do about the ban but I need your ingame name, so post it here or pm it to me.

I don't have a specific username but I believe at the time I was using the alias "Judith Shrinelin", which is the full name of Judge Judy, a reality TV host. When it comes down to it, my name is irrelevant, if I can't connect to your server that means all the other people on my ISP can't connect to your server either, and since New Zealand only has about 2 main ISP's in competition (and im on one of them) that means your admins have barred a good 1/4 - 1/2 of my country, so asking me my name - pointless, this is a problem that has to be fixed sooner or later so pull ya finger out and do something about it. SURELEY i came to the right place, the problem has occured on a majorgeeks server so i naturally searched google for "MajorGeeks tribes" and found this place.. If u dont have access to the bans list then tell me how to contact someone who does, dont just waist my time.

Im sorry for coming off as agressive but this is very frustrating, I come home from work and have a few beers and the first thing I want to do is play tribes, every night i join and its the same thing "You have been perminantly banned, please go to #heaven on Dynamix IRC if u feel you have recieved this message in error" and Im forced to go and join one of those Shifter-X servers which lately i have been finding less and less appealing.

So for gods sake, please sort this issue out before I get home tomorrow and ill be so damn grateful!

Yes a player named Somebody Ugly came on and began banning everyone during the aftermath of a snowblind match Ive been banned as well if an admin could sort this out i would be most grateful
