suggestions for hard drive

i know this has been asked to death but i'll ask again anyway. i'm replacing a drive in my home desktop ( home build, asus mother board, amd atholon cpu, windows 7 and samsung 1tb hdd). i don't need anything fancy , just regular web browsing, email, etc. what have you folks had good luck with? tia

If you are looking for something that'll last a long time & be efficient I can't recommend the Western Digital Caviar Green series. You can get them in 500GB-4TB sizes, I've used them for storage for years without a hiccup

You mentioned $ in your previous post, so here's some US links:

• Western Digital Blue 1TB (Half way between their green drives & the black performance drives).
• Western Digital Green 1TB (Quiet, echo-friendly, long lasting drive).

I'd suggest the Green simply for the longevity, I'd take a look around a few other sites for those to get them cheaper maybe. I live in the UK, perhaps someone here can find them cheaper for you
