Suggestions for new laptop, please.

Hello all,
I purchased a Toshiba Satellite series in 2005 that I've absolutely love, but it is running so slowly and always seems to be having some issue or another. I want to purchase a new laptop and keep this one at home. The products and operating systems seem to have changed a lot in the last four years.

Any suggestions on a great laptop for the price out there right now? I sell real estate and do most of my business on the computer. Macs are not so good for the software we use, so I'm not sold on the idea of a mac.
I am thinking of getting something with Bluetooth capability becasue I seem to be travelling a lot lately. Any suggestions or helpful advice you could pass along would be greatly appreciated.
