Sun Java and JavaRa

    Hi there,

    Is this still a good link/download? I am running Secunia PSI (RC3) and it has identified Sun Java JRE 1.4.x as being an insecure program.

    When I go to the above link it comes up as a 'browser'. Is this a different thing or would it solve my problem. In the past I just uninstall Sun Java and then install the latest version.

    I would love to have a Sun Java that updates itself!!

    Hi

    Yes the link is still good, just comes up in the browser section as many add-ons like Sun Java, Adobe Flash are all linked to the browser, so best fit section as any, the version of JavaRa is now at 1.11, very nice free app to remove all older versions of Java runtime.

    Yes you can certainly do what you normally do in using add/remove to uninstall older Java versions, just JavaRa helps when you have multiples installed as you know Java JRE is not a rollup application but seperate versions.

    Very true in a perfect world this would be nice, why not email SUN and ask? would love to hear their reply.

    JavaRA sounds like it might cure my prob... BUT my question is I am using an archaic browser NetScape 7.2....will it aid my system so I can upgrade to FireFox? This is where it all began....I'll d/l it (JRA) I'll run it..just want to know what the fall out will be......Serious replies needed
