I thought i saw something about this before...cant find it now. i have win xp with sp2 and on dial up. When I go to games in yahoo, (since i loaded sun java) it is extremely slow loading and i have this tag/tail thing at the bottom that says java applet( like on game tables)..i dont know what its called. This tag blocks my other pages and is just an annoyance i would like to remove/hide. It wasnt there when i had ms java. i tried to check internet options and java settings. Maybe i'm looking in the wrong place? also, aside from the slow loading of sun java, when i exit anything i freeze up for about 2 full mins. 1. can the tag at bottom be removed/hidden? 2. is sun java always this slow or can it be corrected? 3. why am i freezing when i exit and can it be corrected as well? Thank you, babeinthewood

Right click on icon to bring up Java Control Panel.
Go to tab Advanced and first click on cross hair beside <applet> tag support.
Check to see if your browser is checked if not chk it and apply.
As for your icon scroll down to Miscellaneous and uncheck-- place icon in system tray and apply.
by the way what version are you running?

You should update to Version 1.5.0 (build 1.5.0_02-b09),on the same java icon go to tab update and download latest version.
Than go here to see if installed ok.
