Supercooling

Would it be possible to make a refrigerated case that uses freon and whatnot? I guess you could take the cooling unit off one of those little motel size refrigerators (or just use it as a case) and fit it to a big case. I actually have the perfect case for the jareb. It's an old gateway 2k and is like 2 & 1/2 ft tall. I was wondering how I should mod it.

 

no and yes...if its profesionally done theres a company or two that does that type of stuff...no because if you did the slightest thing wrong; humidity will build up and ur computer goes ZAP.

Haul out the neoprene and insulating putty! You'll need plenty of it!

Personally, I'd rather go down the VapoChill (which is essentially the same thing: a heat pump). You could also seal the case entirley, and use some crystals to dry it out, and insulate all piping and the heatsink and the back of the mobo (thats really important) with neoprene and insulating putty, make your own block and re-engineer a fridge so all of the heat absorbtion occoured in a much shorter length of piping, and make your own processor block with capillary pipelines. Or buy one, thats probably easier.

If you were using a pump/valve combination from a fridge, say, you'd have to change the expander valve or you would get inefficient heat transfer.
