I've just switched to Linux and am having the usual problems getting a wireless Linksys wpc54g card to work on my laptop. After trawling through help pages and fora, I've downloaded ndiswrapper and installed it, got hold of the right driver files and installed those, doing everything in these instructions with no problems:

The connection icon says 'no network connection'; the Linksys network is shown when I click on the icon, but when I select it, it tries to connect for a couple of minutes but can't. I've totally run out of ideas and am getting very frustrated with it all. I'm a spoiled Windows brat so adapting to all of this command line stuff is hard, but I'm determined to get the thing working. I'm hoping there's a kind geek out there who can help me before I resort to heavy drinking :) Because I didn't get any errors at any stage, I'm guessing it's one of the card settings, but is there anything else obvious that I might have missed?
