Suspect I Have A Virus | Intermittent Network Failures

  1. First let me start off with saying I'm a professional Systems Administrator, so I do understand most tech lingo.

This issue started about a week ago after I, like an idiot, downloaded and installed a Torrented program for Avid Pro Tools. The program never worked, and when I rebooted my machine to try to resolve the issue, Windows would not POST. I was able to run windows through a Restore though (not a restore point). I later downloaded the trial version of Avid Pro Tools and installed that. My hard drive is a SSD that's only about 150-200 GB, so I use a second 1TB SSD to install most of my software (E: drive).

    The problems I've found:
Downloading any programs or files from any browser almost always are abruptly killed with a "Network Failure". I can 'retry' repeatedly and eventually, after an hour or so, the file will finally download, bit by bit. Running any software, even games like MMORPGs crash after a while due to what I think is the same issue, content from servers is being killed off and won't download, so the program crashes. I noticed also that trying to install Adobe Creative Cloud (the legit version) kept failing, as it also kept crashing. I then noticed not even Windows Updates would install properly, because they wouldn't download. I checked the drivers of my USB Wifi Dongle (which mind you in the last three months I've streamed live on Twitch with heavy game play with no issues), and nothing there worked either. The problem persists in Safe Mode with Networking.

Then I got a breakthrough. I tried starting my browser in Incognito mode, and downloads worked. Albeit, they were still slow, but weren't killed entirely like before. I then downloaded NordVPN and connected my computer to a VPN network. I was able to install Adobe Creative Cloud and download windows updates, again, grudgingly slow, but they did complete.

Normally I have ESET Nod32 installed with a paid license, but this scan found nothing. So, I ran through your steps on this website and all the tools recommended, and I have my logs. Some of the programs did find some things. As recommended, I deleted nothing (except when I had run MalwareBytes before I saw your steps and quarantined a few files already).

I will note also that PingPlotter showed, before I ran these steps, packet loss of up to 100% on several hops. When VPN was connected these got much better, but again were very slow (could possibly be slow because it's on a VPN). When the VPN is connected, ping plotter shows as hop 1 for 192.168.1.1 "HG6Box". I'm not sure what this is, but it's questionable to me. It has a 50% packet loss.

My curiosity about why Incognito Mode and VPN connections work is because whatever is interfering with my internet can't manipulate encrypted connections properly, so some stuff gets through.

With that said, I've attached as many logs as I can to this post. Any help would be appreciated. I'm still experiencing packet loss and intermittent network failures, but not nearly as much as before.
