    hey..

I d/l the diskeeper_lite which majorgeek.com recommends in its "top freeware picks" and found out that when I m trying to install it, a "balloon" pops up by the firewall warning me that:

"KnlWrap Module is attempting to monitor user activities on this computer. If allowed it may try to track or log keystrokes, mouse movements/clicks, web sites visited and other user behaviors"

Is this normal? Should I proceed to the installation of diskeeper_lite? And if it is, I cant seem to figure out what's the relation between this warning and a defragment program.. Plz explain if u can.. Thnx in advance

The fact is that I searched the Internet and found out that other users faced this problem too.

The opinions differ, whether it's a keylogger or not.

Majorgeek.com admins should check this out because of the fact that they listed it in the "top freeware picks".

I can say this: I've been using and recommending Disk Keeper for years and I've never had any trouble with it, personally. But I don't use Zone Alarm. I'm inclined to think that Zone Alarm is picking up a 'false positive' on DK. I've run DK on many PC's with many different antivirus and firewall combos, and I think that if there was something evil lurking in DK, something would have picked it up by now....

From what I've seen KnlWrap Module is part of InstallSheild Engine.

Check to see if you have KILL.INI and KILLAPPS.EXE on your system. If KnlWrap Module is accompanied by either of these it might be a Keylogger.

When you are trying to install Diskeeper the install sheild engine is running and Zone Alarm might be falsely picking it up as a problem.

We place picks that are programs we have tested, as we always do, but also like a lot. Its a false positive, imho Zone Alarm is slowly going downhill. Of course, I use a router, so I dont have a need for a software firewall.

My firewall (Norton Internet Security) doesn't have any objections to Diskkeeper Lite.

Also, it tends to be automated, iw, waiting for you to go idle to scan. A firewall tagging hhis as bad is disturbing to me, security has gotten way overthe top lately.

I use Zone alarm, and I know what you Talking about.Click"allow",cos Maybe you set the firewall to maximum, and that's why you have so much disturbance with the firewall.Check the settings and set the firewall to auto learn ,and you won't have any problems in the future.:wave
