svcd playback

    im running windows 98se.i cannot get svcd files to play on any media player,even though i downloaded and installed the svcd codec.ive tried zoom player,media classic player,vlc,bsplayer,windvd,windows9,they wont play on any of them.anyone have any ideas what i could do to correct this,if itcan be?thanks
