svchost is using all of my cpu.

This problem may or may not be spyware related. I suppose it could be a virus or a file corruption. Yet, I will begin here. Under my task manager I have 4 svchost running. 3 of them are system, and one is a local service. I know they should be there, but one of them is acting very pecular. It seems intent on using between 60 to 100 percent of my CPU. I have ran up to date spyware scans with Adaware and Spybot. They removed some junk, but did not fix the problem. I have also ran an up to date AVG virus scan. It also removed some junk, but did not fix the problem.

Besides the CPU consumption, I am have other problems that began when the svchost went nuts. I am able to copy files, but I am not able to paste them. I am also unable to minmize windows to the system tray. Instead, they minimize right above it. I have also had install shield errors when I try to install the kerio firewall, and I am experiencing other errors when I try to install the newest windows update.

I have been able to contain the svchost by using my Zone Alarm firewall. The firewall prevents from acessing the internet. Thus it does not use the cpu. Yet, the problems with copy and paste and the system tray persist. If I drop the firewall the cpu consumption begins again. It also takes my computer forever and a day to boot up.

I would apperciate any help.

I am using Windows XP home edition on a HP computer.

My computer does not have blaster on it. On a side note, I was also having issues while opening control panel. It crashes nearly everytime I try to enter it. I get an explorer error with a dll file called ntdll.dll. I suppose this could be contributing to my problems.
