SVCHost WZCSVC.dll

Hello again...
Just got a notebook (Tosh.NB100 12A).
The amount of viruses was gob-smacking!!! (37)
I removed them, I think... using various tool's.
It had a whole load of prob's... Bit like the rig. rolleyes

I'm getting a SVCHost prob.
szAppName : svchost.exe szAppVer : 5.1.2600.5512 szModName : wzcsvc.dll
szModVer : 5.1.2600.5512 offset : 0002d3ae

I get this on start-up & when I try to run Live messenger.

Plus I need the BOOT.INI script again... This ones Shot to s**t too.
Can any1 help?

P.s. Dunno if iwunderdownunders about yet... any1 spoke to him?

 

good morning to you Binaryfreek or should i say good afternoon its 9 am over here the dll error you are receiving is related to the wireless zero configuration service there are several ways to rectify this error same as the the boot ini file. since this machine had a load of malware related problems have you run the scan disk for errors function this should correct any errors in the volume just click start click run then type chkdskc:/r and follow the promts you will have to restart the computer for it to run the program,
the boot ini file can be repaired via the recovery console using the fixboot command.

Yeah, I got a new notebook & it's giving me alot of similar prob's my main rig gave me. :-o
A friend used to own it but gave up with it (not too tech savy) so he sold it to ME. :-D:-D:-D
I'm gonna leave the rig on while I try to fix the notebook but I may loose bandwidth when I boot-up. (1:15am)
P.s. I've got a world clock now, just need to install it.

I've got the INI script in notepad on my flash-drive but notebook won't recognise the insertion of it.
Headaches gettin' worse.
P.s. Loaded the world clock now.

 

must be getting pretty early in the morning over your way.if you are talking about file types my computer-tools-folder options file type tab.with it not recognizing your flash drive might be usb driver problem.world clock will help you with times over here and else where might look at something like that for me here.

 

Yeah it's fairly early... 3:30am
Flash-drives fine now.
The app. is "sharp world clock v4.47".
I can't rem. where I got it but it look's like it has a Llamasoft logo on the Installer icon. (see screen-shot attached).

Plus the BOOT text dosen't seem to work, theres no merge on right click & it won't turn into a reg file... The notebook runs Xp Home ED SP3.

P.s. You say you live in New S.W Australia & When you 1st replied tonight you said it was 9am... this clock is telling me it's 8:45pm? confused:confused

 

yeah i live dead smack between Newcastle to my north and Sydney is to my south at berkeleyvale which is on the western side of tuggerah lakes and it is 12:55 pm as of right now.i think something is amiss your end.
can you edit the ini file from right click my computer =properties-advanced tab-startup and recovery hit the edit tab you should be able to copy and past the ini scropt from not pad to there save and exit.
