SVideo problem...

WinXP Pro SP2, NVidia Geforce 5700 256mb AGP. 1.5gb DDR400.
After some messing around, I got my SVideo to work finally. I set up the NVidia Control Panel to clone the display to get the same picture on my TV and CRT at the same time. That works fine. The problem is when I try to watch a video file (.avi using DivX, GOMplayer, WMP10) it plays on the PC perfectly, but on the TV, I don't get the video picture. If I'm using WMP, I get the skin and the play button, pause button, and what-not, but the place where the video should be is just empty! The same thing happens with ANY media player that I've tried. What's the deal with this? Any help will be appreciated.

I saw this many times,but the problem is your graphic card.It doesn't support viewing video files on both at the same time.I know it's sad,but the thing is either you use your monitor or your TV.This is not the problem only for your GC,I have FX 5200 ultra,my fried have ATI 9550 and 9250,And we can't view videos on TV and monitor at the same time.

 

OK. I'll buy that. Tonite after work I'll try it on just the TV and we'll see if that works...

Can you set the TV to default, primary monitor? I had that problem on my laptop and never did get it to working properly, although I could view web sites, picture files, and WMP visualizations. Our TV has a VGA, DVI, and HDMI connector now, I should give it another try.

 

Yeah, I can set the TV to be the only display by using the NVidia Control Panel... it's mainly so I can watch movies that I haven't converted and burned to DVD (yet) on a larger screen.... like I said, I'll try it tonite (I'm still at work :banghead) and we'll see what's up....
