Hi guys, I'm trying to swap a swf video file from an education program with one of my own.
Usually all I would need to do is rename my own swf movie file to the name of the swf file I want to replace in the program and when I execute the program, my own swf video would play instead of the original one.

This time only the audio plays but no video is displayed. I figured it might have to do with video codec.
The audio codec for both swf video files are MPEG Audio Layer 3 so no problem.

The video coded is different. The original one is On2's VP6.2 Video (Flash) VP6F and my own swf video file codec is: Flash Video (FLV1).

Is this the reason why my video won't show up when I swap the files? The audio plays no problem, but the video doesn't display. My guess is I need to convert my swf video files from FLV1 codec to VP6?

Can anyone suggest how I can do this?
    Thanks!

SWF files are different to regular video files.
I have used this with perfect results.
    Swf To Video Converter.
    What's the file size?
If you upload it to the cloud I'll give it a try. (You can message me with the link if you prefer)

Thanks I appreciate the advice. I tried using Swivel but it won't read the swf file when I try to add it to Swivel.
I was able to add the original swf file which used at VP6 codec but mine is in a FLV1 codec and swivel doesn't seem to be able to read it.

I've tried every site I could find that converts mp4 to swf and when they do, the swf codec always end up being FLV1.
Why? How can I use the VP6 codec?

Where did you get this file?

    Isn't Flash video unsafe now?

It was originally an mp4 video file and used those online sites where you can convert mp4 to swf (several of them) and they all convert it into swf files but when I check the codec it is FLV1. I have no idea how one can convert a video file into swf using On2's VP6.2 codec. I'm still assuming that is the reason why it won't play in the program when I swap out their swf file for my own since the two swf files have different codecs.

There is no issue with security as this is not for a website or anything like that. It's a stand-alone educational program cd. I just ripped the cd onto my desktop and I can manipulate the program by replacing audio or video clips with my own. Then when I run the program for the kids, it's fun because instead of seeing the original video or audio files, they can plug themselves in the educational program simply by swapping my own files with the original cd swf files. It used to work in the past but with all the new development in coding and such, I guess it's no longer as simple as swapping files.

I think you have correctly diagnosed the problem.
You can convert the MP4 files to SWF using SUPER which does support VP6 (even though it was introduced in 2003).

Take extra care when installing this software.
You can opt out of the optional software in the EULA.
