switching between hard drives?

is it possible to switch between hard drives on bootup?
what i mean is , is it possible to have xp installed onto 2 hard drives have them both connected but use one at a time for doing different tasks.
like say i want one to stay clean so i only use that one for chatting and burning dvds and stuff. but the other i want to use for being a surf junkie. the reason i want to know this is that i know that these websites give you alot of spyware. so it would make sense if i used a different hard drive to do this.

what about making 2 partitions? can i switch between xp installs that way? how many partitions can i make? as many as i want?

 

I could do more research on this, but I believe Win XP can be installed on two hard drives in the same computer. Here's one reference: Multibooting with Windows XP: Introduction. Although the article talks about installing OS, it also seems to be clear that Win XP or Win 2000 can be installed twice in a computer with two hard drives.

 

hi there is another way, not long ago i tried to install two os on the same partition, i know it sounds ridiculous, but it's possible, i used os selector from acronis, and you know, they worked perfectly.
