sygate firewall

my cpu useage was at 164mg , i decided to protect my pc with sygate.exe fire wall. cpu is now at 194mg. does anyone know why? the smc.exe is only 1300kb. is it because of programs constantly trying to launch? also i cant find the exe for file network sharing, so i can trade file on my home network! is there a file with a safe list or something anywhere? i also have ccleaner, adware.est. and all the major geeks must have progys.
any thoughts or remarks wellcomed, cheers jeff
