How about some opinions on System Restore, just getting going with new system, XP Pro SP2, should I keep it enabled or disable it, if enabled - keep it at its default size or shrink it down, I keep good back ups of all apps and personal stuff, I'm thinking of just turning it off completely - how about some thoughts on this - Thanks

In my opinion you should run "System Restore", main reason is that if you make a glich some where some time you will Thank the folks at MS for your "System Restore" for with just a few clicks your back to where you were before. I use "Default Size" then aprox once a month I turn off SR then turn it back on and make a new restore point WHY mainly because it gets rid of all the "Old" points and starts backing up again. Those "Old" restore points start sucking up a fair amount of HD space. Thats my $0.02 worth

I leave it on maximum, but i delete the restore points occasionally when the system is running smooth.

Is that ALL you have to do, is "turn SR OFF" to clear, I imagine you have to reboot before turning on again ???

    Thanks for the quick reply
