Sysinternal is now MS TechNet

Wow, I went to checkout the latest on rootkit revealer and lo and behold the author is now MS at TechNet. MS absorbed Sysinternals and I fear those great apps will get lost in there. I hope Mark made a killing! I guess MS is sick of being bashed.

As I understand it, the tools that were free, are still free.

 

I agree but how will one find them unless they knew the name beforehand? I guess MG's is the place where they won't be forgotten.

I agree, I rarely, go elsewhere besides MG's to find updates on programs. I just go to the authors sites, for change logs.

Yes, this troubled me as well. So far, the apps are still available - I just hope it stays that way . . . but I doubt there will be new "free" apps in the offing.

Anyway, I also hope Mark and Co. made out well in this. Sysinternals has been a good thing for the souls that venture out into the net-jungle . . . they earned their laurels, and I have no problem with them resting on them.
