sysoc.ini

If anyone is familair with the sysoc.ini file in win2k, i'm trying to get it to show all the windows components in windows uninstall, what do the , or ,, and the numbers after it mean?

Is it any different from the sysoc.ini on all the other versions? I never heard that it was.

Anyhoo, the only thing you have to do is Find & Replace all "hide" with " " (nothing), so that in every case where there WAS ",hide," there is now only ",,". (There shd be two commas in a row in every case of replacement of hide with nothing.)

Reboot is required, of course, because you're making a boot-read change.

 

Yea I did that but i think i might have deleted some of the commas or something...

 

Well, can you check in your backups from BEFORE you edited sysoc, to see what the original looked like?

EDIT:
I just checked and it's sysoc.INF, not INI, that we're messing with here, and it has NO INSTANCES of a single-digit number that is NOT preceded by ",," or ",hide," ...

SO, if you edited the thing manually instead of with S & R, and if you MIGHT have deleted an extra comma, then go back to the file and look at ALL of the single-digit numbers and make sure that every one of them follows EITHER two commas OR comma-hide-comma.
