System Error 5

    Anybody ever heard of this...when unlocking Windows XP, I get a System Error 5: Access Denied. The network cable is plugged in so it's not that. Any ideas?

    When the system is idle it "locks the workstation". I hit ctrl-alt-del, enter my password, and when I get back to the desktop I see the system error. It doesn't seem to affect anything, but it's annoying.

    Do you have DSL?

    Also, have you tried this in a new user account?

    It's on a network at work. It is high speed, T1 I think. I used the administrator account and it doesn't give the error with that account.
