    Hello again,
    My pc specs are:
    HP Pavilion a350n
Windows XP Home Edition, Version 2002, SP2
Pentium 4 CPU 2.80 GHz 512 MB Ram

I received this error after I had opened 5 separate webpages in Internet Explorer. About 2 minutes after opening the last page this error cam up:
Windows has recovered from a serious error.
    Source: System Error
    Category: (102)
    Event ID: 1003
    Error Code: BCP Code 1000000a, BCP1 000000A0, BCP2 00000002, BCP3 00000001, BCP4 804E5E07
    OSVer 5_1 2600 SP2_0
    Product: 768_1
    C:Docume~1\owner\locals~1\Temp\WER9715.dir00\mini032305-01.dmp
    C:Docume~1\owner\locals~1\Temp\WER9715.dir00

OK, so then the computer shut itself down. When it came back up I went to the event viewer and the info there was slightly different for the error:
    Same event id and category.
    Error code 1000000a, parameter1 000000a0, parameter2 00000002, parameter3 00000001, parameter4 804e5e07

I don't know why the error code is different, but this was the same error. So, I went to microsoft.com and looked up the event id and found some information about updating my drivers. I went through each driver and couldn't find any newer versions. I also looked at some other articles, but couldn't find one that related to XP. Could this be related to a virus? My anti-virus and firewall are both up to date and when I scanned nothing new came up.
Anyhow, I would really appreciate if anyone could point me in the right direction to get this remedied. I was online doing a phone interview for a work from home program, so this was frustrating to say the least!
    Thanks in advance!

    Hey Scout,

Do you have a USB Universal Reader from Lexar Media?

That doesn't sound familiar. I looked at the drivers in my C: drive and I don't see anything like that. Is there somewhere else I'm suppose to look?

Could this have something to do with my DSL line? I recently had to do a full recovery on my pc because of a corrupted hard drive. I think I reinstalled all the software I needed, but I just found this cd:
    D-LINK
    DFE-530TX+
    Express 10/100Mbps PCI Adapter

I don't think I installed the software on this cd. But I can get online.

My internet connection has been acting a little funny lately. Most of the time I can connect OK, but sometimes I have to restart my pc in order to connect. (This has been happening more frequently within the last 4 or 5 days.)
So, could this be the cause of this error?
    Thanks!!

OK. I'm not sure about the D-LINK software you mentioned before.

I had those types or errors with a bad memory stick, I replaced the memory and I have not had any such :) But I believe there are other issues that can do that, your memory is dumping. Someone with more experince can help you more, just keep in mind memory in case you can't fix it any other way

What is a memory stick? Is it the memory in my c: or d: drive? I'm not very computer savvy, so please excuse my limited knowledge.
I am about to start this job where I work from home with my pc. I need everything up and running smoothly before I start my training, and I'm a little worried that this problem is going to impede my work.
Am I going to do another system recovery or replace the memory? AHHH!! This couldn't be happening at a worse time! Any quick help is much appreciated!!
    Thanks!

A memory stick goes on your motherboard inside your PC. It is a peice of physical hardware that plugs in. What have you tried so far?, System Restore will only fix it if it is due to a recent software problem and you know when, or at least close to when it started and you have a restore point that was created before that time. Is this something that just started? If you have had your PC for awhile and this just started, then chances are it is not your memory. If it is a new PC, or it has been going on since you got, or upgraded your PC, it could be memory. Sorry I can't be more help, hang in there, someone will be soon :)

I had to order HP recovery cds because my recovery drive was corrupted due to a virus. After I did the recovery everything was fine for a couple of weeks and then every couple of days or so I would get this system error.
I have a feeling it has something to do with my DSL connection, but I could be (and probably am) way off. Like I described below, I often have to restart my pc in order to get the connection.
I have not tried system restore yet, because I wasn't sure that I needed to.
    Thanks!

Go to your C:\windows\minidump folder and zip up those files, then attach them to a post here.

Just give me the most recent 3.

I'd post the link to the debug tutorial, but I figured I'd do it for you to save time and frustration.
