This has been happening for a few days now, and I'm not sure why. When I shut down my computer, it restarts, and goes into something like scandisk (not sure what it's called for XP) I am not restarting, it is doing that by itself for some reason. Then a message pops up saying something along the lines that Windows has recovered from a serious system error. The computer is working fine, except for being a little slower than usual, and these things already mentioned. This is the information presented with the error:

    "BCCode : 48 BCP1 : 8415B318 BCP2 : 00000000 BCP3 : 00000000
    BCP4 : 00000000 OSVer : 5_1_2600 SP : 2_0 Product : 256_1

If you need more information, I can give it to you the next time this happens.

    Well, turn off automatic restart.

System Properties, Advanced, Startup and Recovery Settings, uncheck "automatically restart."

Then post what info comes up in the stop error.

Also, you can find out the culprit (usually) yourself.
