I've been using System Explorer for some 3 yrs. A few days ago I noticed that some how, System Explorer was not set as my default so I proceeded to set it and I got this popup below. What must I do to fix this issue? Screenshot_3.png

I re-install System Explorer but I still get the popup. I am running with admin rights. What should I do?

You should always say what your exact Operating System is when posting.

When you relaunched it, did you RIGHT-click the shortcut and choose 'Run as Administrator'?
    If not, try that.
If reinstalling it, also make sure you right-click the set up file and choose 'Run as Administrator'.

    OS .... Wins-7-64

Yes. When I launch System Explorer I do right click and choose "Run as Administrator". I have never seen right-click to choose "run as administrator" when installing software. As you can see in above picture, it states that there is an "error write to registry"....

Yes that option is always there for 99% of programs when installing. I know of only one program (Libre Office) that I have installed that doesn't have that option.
But System Explorer set up file DOES have the RAA option as I just tested it.

Apart from doing a clean full uninstall - using a decent uninstaller such as Revo, Ashampoo, Geek or Iobit - then restarting your system, and doing a clean install I can't suggest any other move.

Okay.... Please explain how do I access the RAA option when doing a clean install of System Explorer. I would appreciate it very much. Thanks.....

GREAT.... did as you suggested and all is good now. Thank you very much. I am not sure but I think that when I uninstalled System Explorer the first time I used the Windows uninstaller so now I used IObit and restarted Wins 7 it went smooth and System Explorer is now set as my default. I also installed the portable version which does not write to the registry. Thanks for your valued help.
