I sent a system file to virus total and when the process was done the file was sitting on my desktop! i have never used virus total, and i did NOT know how to put it back, or if I was even supposed to.The file is a Windows installer file named thumbs.db.virus total said MAGIC LITERAL-CDF doc corrupt can't read,TAGS-msi. I then did a system restore back to before i sent the file, everything is fine, but the file is still on my desktop. I then Ran sfc/scannow it said no integrity violations found. I then ran DISM.exe first part scanhealth and it said no corruption of the component store found. Can i safely delete this file from my desktop?:-o

The short answer is yes. This file is only seen when the "Show hidden files and folders" option is enabled and Exporer's thumbnail view is also enabled. A new one will be created if the above remains the same and you open it's original directory again.

Virus total said something about being corrupted? And i already did a restore back to 2/2/14, and it is also in my download file? Thanks for the quick reply. I didn't think anyone would jump on it, and have an answer that fast!:-o
