    My specs are:

    Gigabyte GA-P55-UDR3 Motherboard
    OCZ Vertex 3 120GB SSD
Corsair RAM (sorry don't have specs right now)
    i5-750 CPU

I think I have ruled out all other components. I have a new SSD (which is used for my boot/programs drive), I have tried a different optical drive, I have nothing plugged into the motherboard other than my graphics card, I have tried reinstalling Windows several times and I am getting all the proper voltages in the BIOS.

After I successfully install Windows and it reboots I get hung up at the Windows boot logo. It just sits there and the logo is actually moving slightly but I cannot get past it. I have tried flashing new BIOS on my MB, I have run a MEMtest and my RAM checks out fine and loading the optimal defaults. What is strange is I can take my SSD out and load Windows on another PC and it will boot fine. :??:

Check the OCZ website or contact OCZ tech support to be sure you have the latest firmware version installed on your SSD.

My dad had this issue a few months ago. Turned out OCZ had shipped a bunch of drives that had the same problem; the firmware update solved it.

    Hope this helps. :)

I tried doing the FW update a couple days ago. I was running it from a laptop (the one I'm typing from now) and I had the SSD connected with a USB adapter and it would not recognize the drive. Do you know if it has to be running in the PC with the SATA connection to work?

At this point, I'd cut my losses. If you're still within the store's return/exchange policy, I'd take it back, preferably for a refund. If you can't return it, get a RMA from OCZ.

Check the user reviews on Newegg or Amazon. My guess is you can find a better drive for about the same money as OCZ generally has (at best) mixed reviews.

I have a Crucial M4 SSD in my netbook, and have never had any problems with it. Might want to just send the other back, then go for the Crucial drive.
