System going into standby

Hi,

I am having problems with my computer going into standby as soon as windows loads once I install my drivers from nvidia. I have a 22 inch dell monitor which I also download the drivers for via there website. After I install the dell drivers the comp runs fine, no standby or nothing. However, when I install the drivers from nvidia after restarting (to complete the installation) the computer just puts itself into standby mode for some reason and I cannot get it out. I am having to manually shutdown the computer, boot into safe mode and uninstall the nvidia drivers to get it back working. This happens everytime after a fresh install of windows and I totally forgot how I sorted it last time.

It is Windows Vista Ultimate, graphics card is a Nvidia GeForce 9500GT

Any help would be greatly appreciated as this is really starting to nark me, thanks in advance.

 

Ok I seem to have resolved my issue, thought I would let you all know, incase someone has similar issue or read this and wondered. Don't laugh either, I have been having a terrible blonde/idiot moment

Well I maybe should of said I usually have my tv hooked up to the back of my pc so I guess when I was installing the new drivers it was seeing my tv as my primary display and not my monitor (haha i no) Simply taking out the s-video cable seems to have resolved my matter.

As another option, to anyone following up on this, the p.c can be set to goto standby after a set predefined period of inactivity, via the power options.
