system idle using 99% of cpu!! plz help

    the system idle process in task manager is saying it is using 99 in the cpu row, why is it doing this? what can i do to lower it?

    Its doing it because your system is idle.

    You can get rid of it by doing something with your computer :)

    Its perfectly normal.

    when i am running programs it does not change,
    i am noticing it on online gaming, i am experiencing quite alot of lag,
    this is the only thing that has changed, it never used to use that much cpu power
