    Ok,heres my problem...

I recently did the OptimizeXP guide ,and I got to the tweak's section. I did the CHKDSK part, and it fixed everything and what not,but then when I try to log on my name,I type one letter and everything just locks up. It just stays on a still screen. Ive done everything, but nothing has seemed to work. Would this be a keyboard problem or is this a system type problem?

Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated :)

I would suspect so -- but the easiest way to tell is to plug another keyboard in.

Ok,the problem is not the keyboard. Ive tried all 3 keyboards that I have, plus a wireless one. Ive never seen an error like this before, nor has anyone else ive asked.
Is this problem even found in the Microsoft website? Any help or links would do

There is another post somewhere in the forums about this that I came across on Google. That is why I signed up to help. I fought the same issue for the past two days and ended up wiping the customer's drive. You can still use the onscreen keyboard (Progs, Access, Assist, OnScreen). At least somewhere in that area. I don't have a Windows box booted at home. If you get into your device manager you'll more than likely discover your keyboard with an error. I tried to force a different driver and that errored too. I tried to uninstall Logitech crap software and install Micro$oft keyboard crap. None of it worked. I couldn't uninstall because it bit*hed about the Windows Installer. Tried to update that. It failed.

In the end, NUKE & PAVE! Well, not quite, just overwrote the Windows directory because it wouldn't detect the install to do a repair thus forcing the reload of all the programs. PITA I tell you.

Is it any wonder I use Windows less than an hour a week at home?
