System Mechanic License

Hi,

On Feb 3, I downloaded a 30-day trial version of System Mechanic Pro 6. Loved it so I wanted to keep it. Yesterday, I went on the site to buy it (seeing as my trial had been over for a few days already) and got my serial # and user ID. Except, I can't use it! There is already one in my software.

Now, don't get me wrong, if it was one that worked, I wouldn't be complaining but this serial # and User ID that is already there is, according to SM6 tech guys, a crack. (http://soft-best.net/ is the user ID) How do I get rid of that?!?!

I tried uninstalling and removing every entry of this software from the registry but every time I launch the exe to re-install, the crack is still there!

I paid for it and I want to be able to use it. The company doesn't even want to help me because they say my version is illegal! I took it from THEIR site and PAID for it!!

You mean they did not check the serial and user ID S.M.6 gave you to see if it was legitimate? They should have at least cross-referenced the code you bought to check out your story. Perhaps you should send it (and the confirmation e-mail) in to them and ask them to check it out before they refuse to help.

 

Nope. They don't want to hear it. They say there's nothing they can do and they won't even refund my money!

How did the crack get on your machine?

If it was included in the trial, then it mustn't have been downloaded from a reputable source.

 

I have no idea!!! I don`t know much about computers but I know that lately, since the trial ran out, I have been infested by tons of viruses and spywares. Maybe from there?

 

I am now uninstalling it again from safe mode. I am removing all NTFS streams it has created in hope that the key was hidden somewhere in there.

 

I think I managed to clean it good in safe mode except I deleted the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\BootExecute key.

System boots fine and all seems to work. I just keep getting a message during boot that says about autochk.exe.

Any advice on that?

Nope, didn't work. That crack is still there. If only I could restore back. Why won't my computer accept certain restore points?

 

I will certainly look into that soon!

But I think I have found the key!!!!! Let me try to reboot.

 

This thread makes me uneasy. Talks about cracks isn't allowed, and lets face it, when is the last time anyone had a crack installed on their system, for a specific application, and a specific version of said application, that they DID NOT KNOW ABOUT IT?
