I have just finished returning my system to Factory condition so I know it is OK. I am reinstalling programs. System Mechanic Pro will not install. It goes as far as the reboot, I get a sign asking if it should continue I say yes and nothing happens. I have turned off all firewalls etc. (Windows and Webroot). I can't get anywhere with Iolo. Can anyone help me. Iolo mistakenly gave me a link for System Mechanic II. It installed fine. I asked them for the Pro I had paid for and used their link. Won't work. The original SM II has been uninstalled. I downloaded Revo from your sight and it does not show System Mechanic as existing so it is clean.

Hey Jemain, download the trial version of Revo Uninstaller Pro and go to Forced Uninstall and then type in the name of the product you want uninstalled and it should get any leftovers that were left behind. Then try to install your product, on a personal note Iolo System Mechanic does more harm than good, a lot of computers I repair fell to the mercy of System Mechanic Get Revo Pro here, http://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninstaller_free_download.html.

System mechanic and programs just like it are complete junk and cause more harm than good.

You are better to stick with ccleaner which is safe and i have used it for years with no problems what so ever.rolleyes
