    Hi guys,

I went to cyberpower inc to configure this premade system:

    # Plastic GAzelle Mid-Tower Cases w/ 400Watt Power Supply (ICYWHITE)
    # (800Mhz FSB) IntelĀ® PentiumĀ® 4 CPU @ 3.0GHZ 1MB w/ Hyper Threading
    # *(DDR400-800MHz FSB)ASUS P4P800 SE I865PE AGP8X DUAL DDR w/AUDIO,USB2,LAN
    # 1GB (512MBx2) PC3200 DDR400 Memory (Corsair_XMS)
    # MAXTOR 120GB 7200 RPM ATA 133 HARD DRIVE
    # NONE - Hard Drive
    # NONE - Video Card
    # NONE - CD/DVD
    # NONE - CDRW
    # NONE - MONITOR
    # 3D WAVE ON-BOARD 5.1 SOUND CARD

    Price: $747 ( which will $812 shipped )

Is this a reasonable price? Or can I get a better deal by purchasing these parts separately from newegg or another website?

    your opinion/insight greatly appreciated

    Thanks a lot

Well to me that seems a bit steep with not having a Video Card, CD/DVD or CDRW. If you are comfortable with building & maintaining your own machine, then I would look up the prices for those items on NewEgg. Now with that said.................

If you are not very computer savy, then having someone to yell at when things go wrong is priceless. Ya just cain't put a price on that. :D

I'd personally consider building your own. I disagree with newegg, and reccommend instead 3btech.net. It's become my favorite site for buying parts, since continental UPS ground is free. On a casual look through just now, You could save at least a hundred dollars, and still have a few better components, even if not all the exact same.

I hate to sound like a walking advertisement for them though. I do agree with the bit about tech support.

I went to newegg and looked around and this is what I got:

    http://secure.newegg.com/app/shoppingcart.asp?DEPA=0&submit=view

If anyone can take a quick look and see if the stuff fits... I wouldn't want to have a bunch of parts that can't be put together :)

Also any other suggestions, like more fans or something. Or if I'm missing anything. Or other parts that maybe better than the ones I currently have picked.

    thanks a lot

Comparison shop at the the site I mentioned, you might get a better price. You also don't have to buy everything at one site either.

No you dont have to buy everything from the same site, but it does help to cut down the shipping time, as well as the cost in alot of cases. Also everything will most likely arrive at the same time. Always a good thing. :p

Yes everything in those links looks good to me.

    One thing..................

You might wanna look at this this memory. You stated you were getting 1gig so, this is great memory IMO. I use the PC2700 of this & I ain't never had a problem with it. The CAS Latency is better & it'll save you a couple bucks.

    Again Just My Opinion
