System recovery

I run Windows XP Home Edition S3 and cannot access my System Restore.

The option is activated and I even manually set a Restore Point but still not luck!

No special notices or instruction just that no changes had been made.

 

If you have loaded Service Pack 3 (SP3) the effects are permanent, you cannot go back as you can with simpler updates.

You should be able to start again with new System Restore points though.

Please elaborate on what happens.

Does everything else work properly?

Have you actually finished updating and restarted or are some updates still pending?

 

Nothing is outstanding. Just that I've accumulated a number of nuisances that I thought restoring the system would overcome but no way!

As for starting a new restore point manually, I've done that...waited a day or two and still cant activate System Restore to that point!
