Ok, heres the thing. I can start up guildwars or lineage 2 fine and play for a random amount of time (10min - 1 hour) then my system randomly restarts. I have the latest directx (9.0c) and the latest video drivers for my card. But so far it only does it on these games (made by ncsoft). I can play everquest fine, i can play diablo 2 fine, i can also play counterstrike fine, and FFXI fine.

I also downloaded motherboard monitor and it shows my temperatures as case - 42c, cpu - 66c, sensor3 - 0c, core 0 - 1.73v, core 1 - 0v, +3.3 - 3.14v, +5.00 - 4.70v, +12.00 - 11.92v, -12.00 - -12.10v, -5.00 - -5.09, fan 1 - 4066rpm, fan 2 - 0rpm, fan 3 - 0rpm, cpu - 1997mhz, cpu 0 - 0%

might be an array of things; including bad memory on your MB or Vid card; aging PSU or CPU/RAM FSB are different from each other causing hickups. Its hard to say; try reinstalling and updating drivers by using Driver Cleaner Pro and then installing the drivers. Good luck.

Ok, lol that doesnt really help me but thanks for at least replying and letting me know someone is at least reading this.

Sure it does; you can start by switching out your PSU if you got a spare; or running a memory test program to see if thats the case; checking the temp of your GPU Also is an indicator. You could go into your BIOS and check if your FSB for your CPU and MEM are the same and you go and reinstall your vid card drivers using driver cleaner pro. Of course, if you dont feel like doing any of that no one can really help you.

I've alrdy done memtest, I have motherboard monitor and all the temp's looked ok, i've re installed the drivers and i have the latest ones for my vid card. I'm not sure what else to do really...i guess ill turn off auto reboot and just post the error message i get if i get one.

Ok, heres the error message i got. I dont know what it means but maybe someone here will (i hope):

    IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

    TECHNICAL INFORMATION:
    **STOP: 0X0000000A (0X50BE44E4, 0X00000002, 0X00000000, 0X804EA7E6)

you have an IRQ conflict (obviously) something [probably]in your pci slots is conflicting and using the same resources; for example your vid card + modem, or your vid card + sound card. would atempt to disconect your sound card/56k modem/NiC card first to see which one could possibly give you that problem; once you find the culprit out you can try uninstalling and downloading updated drivers for that device to see if it works.

would overheating cause that issue? just wondering cause i switched my vid cards out and that fixed the problem, i can play on my older card with no problems at all. It doesnt run as well as the newer card but its using the same drivers cause nvidia cards all do most of the time unless you have a beast of a card or some situation of that sort. I'm guess overheating since that card is a lot bigger than my older card and it has its own fan where my other card just has a heat sinc. Also my case sits in one of those "cubby whole" desks where you have the box that your case sits in inside the desk, and my desk sits against my wall so im wondering if since it is alrdy getting horrible circulation that the card would just overheat and cause that problem

I've had the IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL error message a few times on various machines. What fixed it for me was reseating the RAM. In one case I had to replace one stick of the RAM as well.

    Short answer would be no.

I had a problem which was similar to yours!
Because of a new game crashing my system, I updated my Nvidia driver to "66.XX_win2kxp_english". But now my old games were causing problems, so I rolled back the drivers and waited for a new release of the driver.
Lo & Behold Nvidia brought out the "71.89_win2kxp_english" driver.
I've had no problems since installing this driver!
