My ex-brother inlaw was very nice in assisting me in deleting most everything off of my CPU. Long story short, my exwife stole my CPU and when I got it back, I have XP Pro and nothing else. No word, excel, etc. Is there any way of going back 6 months and doing a system restore? Alot of my information that I had on the computer is still there, however the programs are not.

Do you have system restore points that actually go back that far?

I'm convinced that as SR only saves certain data, Registry, Profiles, Windows File Protection .dll cache etc and in some cases maybe programs that have directly something to do with the OS, but not really complete non OS programs, it will remove any installed programs that were installed after a SR point but doubt it will re-install then and it even it did, it could cause a system to go unstable.

And if you dont have an XP CD then I wouldnt attempt any restore but look for a second hand or cheap pre Office 2003 version.
