System restore problem

Hey, so i got windows 7 home 64bit, 3gb ddr3 ram,AMD athalon II p340 dual core 2.2Ghz... a windows update messed up, did a system restore, that said it had failed during the restore. then when windows loaded said system restore complete to the date i asked etc etc.. restarted machine, and now everytime i restart soon as windows loaded 'system restore completed, date choosen, no files affected' etc sooo i then asked it to undo restore but still same. I cant get it to stop telling me it's restored after every boot. any fixes?
