System Restore Problem

I tried to restore my computer today to 3 different dates. After the computer boots up (after the system restore bar goes across) System REstore comes up, as it normally should, but instead it says:

"Restoration Incomplete.
System Restore could not restore your computer back to (insert date here)."

Does anyone know why this happens, or how I can fix this?

Microsoft says it was from improper shut downs, but I haven't shut down my computer improperly.

Unfortunately all the restore points are linked so if one goes bad they generally all go bad, if it was an improper shutdown it would have only had to happen the once

I suspect you will have to disable SR and reboot to flush out all the old restore points and then re-enable SR unfortunately this will mean no restore points to go back too, were you trying to restore your machine for a particular reason
