System Restore

On a Dell Inspiron B120 Laptop with XP Home, I have had trouble with System Restore. After choosing a restore point, everything works normal until following the associated reboot I get a message that tells me the computer can not be restored to the point I selected. After trying many different restore points, I have given up. Any ideas?

So, in order to make sure I had the exact text of the message I was getting following each of the failed restore attempts, I did a system restore. I wanted to be able to compare the text to the MS Support articles. Guess what? It :*** worked correctly this time. Thank you cr.Gena for pointing out to me what I should have already attempted...check with Microsoft.

If it happens again in the future, I will quote the text from the failure message and then post the link to the article that provides the correction. Thanks for your time, geeks.
