I clicked on a link and i got a virus, after running malware software, and it requesting rebooting computer to remove infections, my computer stopped working. I can start up, and click F8 for the safe mode screen, but computer will not start up in safe mode or any other mode. The only thing i figured out after running the windows recovery console is that the siside.sys_ file is corrupted, and that the program cannot startup. I was told to do a system restore, and if fails, do factory restore, but i was hoping i won't have to do that. Can anybody give me any suggestions? I have XP.

If you boot up with the Windows XP disk you can click "Repair Existing Installation" and after it reloads the necessary files reboot your system without the Windows XP disk.

That usually reinstalls the damaged files without changing the registry.
