    Win 7 x64
How do you set the volume shadow copy in services.msc in the 1- status column and the 2- startup column.
Both my pcs have defaults of nothing in status and manual in startup.
I would like automatic points as I think it should do.
I can set points which work but wonder why automaic is not defauted.
    Thank you

No need to go into Services for this. Use Control Panel > System > System Protection to configure which drives are to be protected with restore points, and how much (%) of each drive is to be used by SR. Your services will be automatically configured for your choices.

I was familiar with the system restore and feel it is configured right.
I see no provision to set manual or automatic but as you say the services will be configured automatically.
Good to know and thank you.
