system restore

attempting to go back with system restore as a result of itunes issues (not recognizing my ipod, long story). Error message is "System Restore has encounted a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for inconvenience." Tried again after rebooting, same issue.

If your System Restore is not working properly, you could always try "reinstalling" it.

It’s actually quite easy to re-install System Restore; by following the instructions which can be found at this link: Reinstall System Restore.

Important Note: This "reinstallation" procedure will entirely delete (wipe out) all of the preexisting restore points from your old installation and recreate a fresh installation of System Restore. If you really need your old restore points you might want to wait and see if someone else in this forum comes up with another "less aggressive" idea or possible registry fix.
