I have a Windows XP system with Athlon 64 processor, 2.21 Ghz with 896 MB Ram. I also use Callwave due to having ONLY dial up. A few days ago, the system stalled during awakening from hibernation when the phone rang. It started the fan but the screen remained blank. I could do nothing but a hard boot. When this took place (the hard boot), I noticed that the system did not recognize the printer as being functional when the system started. I then tried connecting to the internet and the system gave me an error that it couldn't find a modem. Not knowing what had happened, I restarted (soft boot) the system. When it restarted, everything was fine and worked properly. The next day, the same situation took place again. This time, the "soft boot" was unable to rectify the situation. I have been unable to gain access to the internet from my computer nor am I able to use the printer. I cannot determine what has happened. In an effort to resove the problem, I tried to recover to an earlier date and time (this was not effective) then tried a system recovery (not allowed as it couldn't read the CD drive). Currently, I have disabled the hibernation activity but still continue to have some difficulty, there you have it. The best information I can give you. Any assistance would be appreciated.
