Not too long ago I had a problem with a Trojan horse, which you helped me get rid of, many Thanks.

This new problem has now arisen. When I turn on my computer and it comes to the desktop the computer hangs for about a minute and then shows only one tray icon, the avast, I then have to log off only and then re-log on to obtain all icon’s in tray and then all programs will run properly.

    Can anyone help?

Do you have broadband? Unhook your network cable and try again. There is a service that causes this problem too...

I unplugged the cable and most of the icons did appear but two were missing until I logged off and on again. is there anything else I can do as I can not keep moving everything each time I shut down and start up my computer.

Go to services.msc and disable the universal plug and play service. Now try once more.

    Tried that and nothing changed.
When I disabled it it refered to windows media player!

That was the wrong service then. Which did you disable?

I disabled the only one that said 'universal plug and play service'
