System turns off within two minutes of start

    antec 650w psu
    dual core processor
    gygabyte motherboard
    geforce 8800 gt graphics card
    2x 2gigs gskill ram
    120 gig hard drive

    every time I start the computer it just shuts itself off, I just replaced the power supply last night, and the same problem persists. it used to shut itself off less frequently, but now I can't even get it to boot up.

    Take off the side, then start it up and see if all the fans are spinning.
    A computer will shut down if there is a heat problem to save the CPU from frying.

    yeah, turns out that the heatsink on the cpu was a little loose. tightened it up and problem solved.
