System won't power up, please help

Hi everyone,

I was working on a system with a Gigabyte GA-7VA board. Fixed the guy's Windows XP problems, then carried it back to his house and it won't start up, like the power cord's not plugged in.

I went through the usual tests, including jumping off the PS green wire to black. The fan on the MB started up, lights were working, etc.

Next I ran an Ohm meter across the power switch at the MB plug. It works as well.

Any thoughts on how to get this motherboard to start up? Any ideas as to what happened? It worked... I drove it ten miles (no bad bumps, etc). Then it didn't work. Now the guy will think I broke it.

When you did this did it boot to windows or was there anything on the screen?

Nope, nothing on the screen, no POST noises, and the PS doesn't latch - once I take the jumper away, everything loses power.

I don't know of anything other than checking the 20 pin connector from the psu to the mobo to make sure it ain't loose.

I guess it's the mobo then. Connector's tight, seated properly.

try jumping the two pins you connect to the power switch with a screwdriver
