I'm having an issue with my computer. When I go to Task manager system is running @ 100% cpu. I am running windows xp. Currently I have reseated my cpu and remove all uncessacry devices from the unit, I have also restored the system to eliminate any software related issues, but after all this System is still running at 100% cpu do anyone have any idea of what the problem could be. I'm thinking mobo/cpu. :cry

    HI

Have you if restored the system ( guessing this means a re-install of the OS ) have you also updated all your drivers including the chipset? this can cause System to be at 100% CPU.

Is your XP fully upto date with all Service Packs and updates?

If you boot to Safe Mode is it the same?

    Also scan for malware.
