T41 has NO power at all

Well I just went to turn on my Thinkpad T41 the other day and NOTHING.I had been giving it a charge till the green battery light came on showing that it was at full charged but when I pressed the power button the green light went out and nothing happened no fans spinning no hard drive spinning up,zero.I have a T40 also and the battery and charger are working properly on that so they are not the problem.I also tried the usual taking out the battery and unpluging then pluging it back up but still no signs of life.Sometimes if I plug in the charger the battery light will come on but as soon as I press the power switch it goes out and I get nothing again.Also sometimes if I look real close I can see that the screen sort of flashes for a split second then its dead again.I would really appreciate any help here.Cheers

 

Yep, sounds like you need to replace the fan, i would get a professional to do this, upgrading/tinkering with laptops can be a tricky job.

 

But the laptop doesnt power up at all so it doesnt get a chance to get hot for the fans to kick in.

 

A PC will not power up without atleast the CPU fan spinning up.
